Japanese school club activities(Bukatsu) are undergoing a period of transformation, with growing attention on how students learn and how coaches teach. Especially in sports, it is not only about improving skills, but also about nurturing the personal growth of each child.
From my experience coaching abroad, I believe it is essential to shift from a short-term results-oriented mindset to a long-term approach that encourages young people to think for themselves. As we look to the future, developing the next generation of coaches who can support this vision is a mission I hold close to heart.
・Graduated from Nihon University, College of Humanities and Sciences, Department of Physical Education
・Certified of Junior High and High School Teaching License (Type 1) in Physical Education
・The Japanese Teachers’ Training Certificate
After working for eight years as a PE teacher at junior high and high schools in Tokyo I moved to the UK.
At a Japanese high school in the UK, I was actively involved in various roles including teaching PE, coaching club activities, Head of dormitory and Welfare officer.
Following the birth of my child, I relocated to Shenzhen, China, where she taught elementary pupils at a Japanese supplementary school. In addition, I coached tennis, swimming, and Japanese language to both children and adults.
At the 2012 London Olympics, I supported the Japanese tennis team, including Kei Nishikori, as a local coordinator working behind the scenes.
Upon returning to Japan, I taught physical education and led extracurricular programs at Awashima Kindergarten in Tokyo, also conducting training workshops for kindergarten teachers.
I joined the educational corporation GODAI at the founding of GODAI Sports Academy. As vice principal, I developed curricula for training professional tennis coaches and specialists in children's physical development. Simultaneously, I systematized human resource development programs across the GODAI Group and conducted training for all employees.
Since 2018, I have structured the "Club Activities (Bukatsu) Instructor Training Program," supported by the Yokohama City Board of Education, to foster community leaders who support extracurricular activities. I have provided numerous training sessions and lectures not only for local boards of educationand private schools but also for the Japan Tennis Association and private tennis companies.
To contribute to the development of capable and responsible educators who support children's futures and to preserve the value of Japan’s proud extracurricular club culture in a new form, I will establish and serve as the representative director of the “Future Sports Consulting (FSC)” general incorporated association starting in April 2025.
I am also a lead lecturer for the foundational knowledge training in the "Coaching Academy – Project to Nurture the Future of Bukatsu (Club Activities)" sponsored by the ANDO FOUNDATION.
